Clinical Therapist

Andrew Fish is a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience providing evidence-based therapy to adults navigating anxiety, depression, chronic stress, trauma, substance use concerns, and life transitions. He earned his Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds active clinical licensure in North Carolina. Andrew offers a calm, collaborative therapeutic space where clients can slow down, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change.

Andrew’s professional background includes work in nonprofit mental health, intensive in-home family services, private practice, and integrated healthcare systems. He has supported individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, worked with families and children in high-acuity settings, and provided outpatient therapy within both private practice and academic medical environments. Most recently, he held senior behavioral health and care management roles within large healthcare systems, including Duke University Health System and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.

Andrew takes a person-centered, integrative approach to therapy that blends insight-oriented work with practical skill-building. He draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based strategies. He is trained in EMDR and has a particular interest in working with anxiety, chronic stress, PTSD, and trauma-related concerns.

Andrew often works with clients who appear to be functioning well externally but feel internally overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained. Therapy with Andrew is collaborative, paced intentionally, and focused on building emotional regulation, self-compassion, and sustainable coping skills rather than quick fixes.

At Advaita Health, Andrew is committed to thoughtful, whole-person care that prioritizes long-term wellbeing, transparency, and collaboration. He offers both in-person and telehealth appointments and is currently accepting new clients.
