Born and raised in Jamestown, New York, Melissa Willingham moved to North Carolina in 1996 and has called it home ever since. She attended TechSkills, where she earned her Billing and Coding Specialist Certification in 2007—a credential she has proudly maintained throughout her career.
With more than 17 years of experience in medical billing and coding, including time spent teaching billing courses, Melissa brings both technical expertise and a strong sense of purpose to her work.
Passionate about helping patients access the care they need, Melissa takes pride in ensuring their visits are properly covered by insurance—so getting help feels a little less stressful. She believes that when billing is done with care and accuracy, it removes barriers and allows patients to focus on what matters most: their mental health and wellbeing.
