Diane Mason, LCSW, CDBT, is a clinical therapist at Advaita Integrated Medicine. She brings a contagious positive energy to our team! She offers therapy at both of Advaita Integrated Medicine’s locations in Raleigh and Cary, North Carolina.

Diane is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Social Work, having previously completed her Masters degree in Social Work in 2016 from Salisbury University in Maryland. Her Bachelors and Masters degrees are in social work with concentrations in women’s studies, psychology, and conflict resolution.  Diane is certified to provide the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) modality. “My approach to therapy is using different lenses to observe and understand a person’s goals,” Diane says, “My approach is informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy, trauma-informed and attachment theories, as well as ACT and CBT. We will work together to build your awareness of thoughts and emotions and to develop strategies to help guide you towards your goals. My approach also incorporates an understanding of the mind and body connection, so I will use that understanding to help you build awareness and offer another set of helpful tools.” Diane’s varied skill set allows her to strike a balance between validation and problem-solving in order to support clients’ steps toward reaching their goal.

Diane’s experiences as an intern included hospice and student counseling settings. Most of her professional experience comes from working with adults and adolescents/teens in inpatient and outpatient crisis settings with various issues including helping individuals manage symptoms related to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationships.

Her professional passion is getting to see the individuals she works with find their “aha!” moments, benefit from setting clear boundaries, identifying values they want to incorporate into their lives, and developing skills to feel more in control of their thoughts and emotions.
