Getting mental health support should be straightforward — not a maze of phone calls and unanswered questions. At Advaita Integrated Medicine, we accept Cigna / Evernorth insurance and make it easy to connect with a licensed psychiatrist and other mental health services in North Carolina without the runaround.
Whatever you’re dealing with — depression, anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, or something else entirely — our team of psychiatrists, therapists, and medication providers is here to help.
We built our practice around making expert mental health care accessible through insurance, because we believe everyone deserves quality care regardless of what they can afford to pay out of pocket.
Our team works with Cigna / Evernorth plans across a wide range of mental health needs. Here’s a simple breakdown of who’s on our team and what they do:
Psychiatrists Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health. They can diagnose conditions, create treatment plans, and prescribe medication. Think of them as the medical specialists of the mental health world.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) PMHNPs are advanced practice nurses with specialized training in mental health care. They can evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medication — just like a psychiatrist. Many patients find that their PMHNP provides the same high level of care they’d expect from any mental health provider.
Psychiatric Physician Assistants (Psychiatric PAs) Psychiatric PAs are highly trained medical providers who work specifically in mental health care. Like PMHNPs, they can evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medication. The care you receive from a Psychiatric PA is just as thorough and personalized as you’d find with any other provider on our team.
Therapists / Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) Therapists and LCSWs are licensed mental health professionals who specialize in talk therapy and counseling. They help you work through what you’re experiencing using proven, evidence-based approaches — without the use of medication.
We’ve worked hard to build a team that attracts passionate, highly trained mental health professionals across every specialty. That means no matter who you see — a psychiatrist, a PMHNP, a PA, or a therapist — you’re getting someone who chose this work because they care, and who has the training to back it up.
Cigna / Evernorth is required by federal law to cover mental health care on the same level as physical health care. That said, what’s covered and what you’ll pay out of pocket will depend on your specific plan.
Here’s a breakdown of what Cigna typically covers:
Psychiatry & Medication Management Psychiatric visits — including your initial evaluation, medication check-ins, and follow-up appointments — are typically covered under your Cigna plan. You may owe a copay or need to meet your deductible first, but seeing an in-network provider like our team will keep your costs as low as possible. Learn More
Therapy & Counseling Individual therapy, group therapy, and family counseling are covered by most Cigna plans. The number of sessions covered can vary, but many plans will cover ongoing sessions for as long as your provider determines they’re necessary. Learn More
TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) TMS is an FDA-cleared, non-medication treatment for depression that uses gentle magnetic pulses to target areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Cigna covers TMS for eligible patients — typically those who haven’t had adequate results from antidepressant medications. We’ll verify your coverage before you begin treatment. Learn More
Telehealth / Virtual Psychiatry Cigna covers telehealth mental health visits on most plans, so you can meet with your psychiatrist or medication provider from home over video — no commute, no waiting room.
Outpatient Programs When weekly appointments aren’t enough, Cigna covers more structured levels of care when your symptoms require that level of support:
Mental Health IOP — The same structured approach as Substance Use IOP, but built around mental health treatment for things like depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, Bipolar and more.
