Emily is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who works with individuals navigating trauma, substance use, and co-occurring mental health concerns. She takes a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to therapy, helping clients better understand themselves, develop practical coping skills, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with their values.

 

Emily earned her Master of Science in Clinical Counseling with a specialization in substance abuse counseling from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Addiction from Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. During graduate school, Emily conducted research on perinatal mental health and how the COVID-19 pandemic affected access to care for new and expecting parents.

 

Emily has seven years of experience working in a variety of behavioral health settings, including community mental health, residential treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient counseling. Her clinical background includes working with individuals experiencing trauma, substance use disorders, serious and persistent mental illnesses, perinatal mental health concerns, and other co-occurring mental health challenges.

 

Her work draws from evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and principles informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS). Emily is LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to creating a collaborative space where clients feel seen, respected, and supported.

 

At Advaita Health, Emily values an integrated model of care that recognizes the connection between emotional, relational, and physical health. She believes therapy works best when clients feel like active participants in the process, and she aims to support people in building resilience, strengthening self-compassion, and creating meaningful and lasting change.
