Family Nurse Practitioner
Jennifer Tangeman, APRN, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has dedicated more than a decade of her career to psychiatry. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after beginning her nursing career as a registered nurse specializing in psychiatry and neuroscience.
Jennifer sees one of her most important roles as serving as a bridge between her patients and the mental healthcare they need. She is committed to understanding each person’s concerns and working together to create a treatment plan that reflects their unique goals, experiences, and circumstances.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Jennifer spent much of her career as a psychiatric and neuroscience nurse, including time as a travel nurse. Those experiences taught her adaptability, resilience, and the importance of remaining calm under pressure. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of listening to thousands of people’s stories from all walks of life. Those conversations continue to shape her approach to care and reinforce her belief that every individual deserves to be heard with compassion and respect.
Jennifer believes meaningful care begins with listening. She takes time to understand each client’s symptoms, challenges, and strengths before developing a collaborative plan for treatment.
She provides evidence-based care for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and other mental health conditions while encouraging each person to play an active role in their treatment.
Her goal is to help clients overcome the barriers holding them back so they can move toward the life they want to live.
