Psychiatric Physician Assistant
Jessica Thomas is a Physician Assistant who provides outpatient psychiatric care at Advaita Integrated Medicine. She earned her Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after completing bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Jessica is committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care while building lasting relationships with the people she serves.
Before becoming a Physician Assistant, Jessica worked as a clinical research coordinator in a women’s health subspecialty and as a mental health worker in an acute inpatient psychiatric hospital.
These experiences strengthened her passion for behavioral health and reinforced the importance of compassionate, patient-centered care.
During her graduate training, she received the UNC PA Program’s “Making a Difference” Community Service Award in recognition of her commitment to serving others.
Jessica enjoys partnering with clients to better understand their symptoms, goals, and life experiences before developing an individualized treatment plan. She believes the best outcomes often come from combining evidence-based medication management with therapy, healthy lifestyle changes, and ongoing support.
By incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing techniques, and collaborative decision-making into her practice, she helps clients build meaningful, lasting improvements in their mental health and overall wellbeing.
