Patient Care Coordinator

My name is Robin Story, and I’m a Patient Care Coordinator at Advaita Integrated Medicine. I’m a North Carolina native with a bit of a traveler’s mindset, and I tend to bring that same curiosity and openness into my work with people.

I graduated from Peace College with a double major in elementary and special education, along with a minor in psychology. I also earned my international certification to teach English as a foreign language in Prague, Czechia. I began my career in education, where I spent 12 years teaching and advocating for students, particularly in special education.

That experience shaped how I communicate and support people. I spent a lot of time helping families navigate complex Individualized Education Plan (IEP) conversations, breaking down complicated information, and making sure students had access to the resources they needed. Over time, I realized how much I valued building relationships and helping people feel supported during challenging moments.

I eventually transitioned into behavioral healthcare, where I worked as an office manager and admissions coordinator. That role allowed me to continue doing what I care about—helping people make sense of their options and take the next step forward.

I understand that reaching out for care can feel overwhelming, especially at the beginning. I try to bring warmth, patience, and clarity to every interaction. Whether we’re talking through treatment options, logistics, or next steps, my goal is to make the process feel more manageable and human. I also value building strong relationships with referral partners so people can access the right support at the right time.

Outside of work, I’m a voracious reader and spend a lot of time staying active. I’ve been training at a kickboxing gym for several years and recently started learning boxing, with plans to try other martial arts.

I’m also a lifelong Carolina Hurricanes fan and go to as many punk, rock, and metal concerts as I can. Travel has always been important to me—I’m currently on my third passport and always looking ahead to the next place.
