Psychiatric Physician Assistant

Travis Senor is a Physician Assistant at Advaita Integrated Medicine whose path into medicine has been anything but traditional. Before completing his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Travis built careers in Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Antarctic Program. Those experiences, along with the people he met along the way, reinforced his belief that psychological health serves as the foundation for overall wellbeing and inspired him to pursue a career in behavioral health.

Before specializing in psychiatry, Travis gained clinical experience in family medicine while also volunteering in wilderness search and rescue. His background outside of healthcare, combined with his medical training, has given him a unique perspective on resilience, adaptability, and the many factors that influence mental health. While attending UNC, he received an academic performance scholarship during his first year as a non-traditional student, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning.

Travis is passionate about helping patients build lives that feel balanced, meaningful, and aligned with their own values. He has a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and ADHD, especially those who struggle with balancing the expectations placed on them by others while trying to define their own goals. He believes strong patient-provider relationships are built on trust, respect, inclusivity, and open communication, creating an environment where people feel safe discussing their concerns without fear of judgment.

At Advaita Integrated Medicine, Travis approaches care as a collaborative process. He works alongside each patient to better understand their experiences, develop practical treatment strategies, and build the confidence to navigate life’s challenges while finding greater peace and fulfillment in everyday life.

Outside of medicine, Travis enjoys playing ice hockey, rock climbing, hiking, traveling, volunteering with animal rescue organizations, reading, watching Carolina basketball, and spending time with his wife and their two fluffy cats. Together, they enjoy exploring all that North Carolina has to offer.
