PRESS RELEASE: Advaita Integrated Medicine Hosts Addiction Professionals of North Carolina 2023 Legislative Leadership Awards Ceremony
Raleigh, North Carolina – The Addiction Professionals of North Carolina (APNC) proudly presents the 2023 Legislative Leadership Awards. This event recognizes remarkable legislative contributions to the field of addiction and recovery that help create a safer, healthier North Carolina and nation. The event will be hosted at Advaita Integrated Medicine, part of the Advaita Collective, located at 6112 Saint Giles Street in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Tuesday, November 14, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. A tour of Advaita Integrated Medicine and Green Hill Recovery will be held from 10:30 – 11:00 am, along with a meet and greet. The award ceremony will start promptly at 11:00 am, with awards being presented by APNC’s CEO, Sara M. Howe, MBA, MS, CHES.
This year, APNC honors State Representative Timothy Reeder, MD, and State Senator Bobby Hanig for their outstanding bipartisan efforts. Representative Reeder is the lead sponsor of H415 (Session Law 2023-141), also known as the SAFE Act that makes Patient Brokering a Class G felony in North Carolina. Senator Hanig is the lead sponsor of S458, the proposed expansion of the Good Samaritan Law. Both legislators have exemplified the importance of cooperative legislation in advancing addiction-related public policy. This type of bipartisan legislation is precisely what we need to help create a safer, healthier North Carolina.
